Former Quarryman’s Arms Hotel / Kennedy’s Hotel

Licence granted to Charles Saunders in 1858 on the corner of John and Mount Streets.

After he passed the running of the quarries to his son Robert he was a genial host until the 1870s. The ownership passed to Joseph Holland. This is listed in City of Sydney rates books until 1911 as 71 John St, owned by Tooth and company with Patrick Kennedy licensee (hence Kennedy’s Hotel). Later it was bought by CSR and converted into two dwellings.
