Dunkirk

Corner of Harris Street and Pyrmont Bridge Rd, built 1877-79.

Formerly the Butchers Arms, it catered for workers at the abattoirs in Abattoir Road. In the 1940s it was renamed Dunkirk in a burst of patriotism. The name was changed again to the Kirk in 2000 and back to the Dunkirk in 2011.
